Curiosity, from the beginning.
Self-taught on the early webThe early years
Curiosity came first.
Long before digital freelancing had a name, I was the child who wanted to know how everything worked. There is a family photograph of one-year-old me confidently dismantling a mango with the few teeth I had. That appetite for discovery never really left.
I grew up through the breakdancing and disco years, entered formal employment only three months after high school, and met the internet as it began arriving in Kenya. I taught myself HTML, CSS and Macromedia Dreamweaver, then built my organisation's website and a free web portal for Kenyans.
